Bike to Work Week isn’t just about getting from point A to point B—it’s about so much more than that. It’s a chance to reduce your carbon footprint, improve your physical and mental health, and connect with your fellow Cedar Rapidians in a meaningful way. By swapping four wheels for two, you’ll not only save money on gas and reduce traffic congestion but also contribute to a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations.

- Mayor’s Proclamation and Ride: Thursday, May 9 at 5:45 pm at NewBo City Market. Proclamation about Bike to Work Week and short ride after. Must have a helmet to ride. Meet fellow cyclists, and get pumped up for a week of biking bliss.
- Group Rides: Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or just getting started, there’s a group ride for you during Bike to Work Week. Join one of the rides listed on our Bike to Work week event poster, or gather your friends and colleagues for a leisurely cruise around town.
- Chain Reaction Bike Hub: May 14, 4-6 pm. Check our our new non-profit Bicycle Community Shop: Rides will depart to Chain Reaction from Green Square Park every 30 min between 4-6 pm
- Bike To Lunch Day: May 14. Bike to Lunch at NewBo City Market will have a number of Food Trucks to choose from. Area restaurants, including Big Grove Brewery, Cedar Rapids Taproom Cedar Rapids, will be offering 20% off lunch for those who BIKE in. Also, Don’t forget to mark that off on your BINGO card for prizes at the Handlebar Happy Hour at Sag Wagon, Shaver Rd., on Friday, at 5 pm.
- Pit Stops: Need a pit stop during your commute? Look out for our designated pit stops in the downtown area and near Blairs Ferry Rd at Collins and 2nd Ave SE on the Cedar Valley Nature Trail. Monday and Wednesday 6:45 am-8:15 am and 4 pm-5:30 pm. Connect with fellow cyclists, pick up your BINGO card and gather more information about events during Bike to Work Week.
- Bike Bike Rodeo: Participate in a Bike Rodeo for kids on Thursday, May 16, hosted by HBA and LCTA. Safety first! Be a part of helping young kids learn the proper signaling, helmet fitting, and how to ride safely with your friends.
- Closing Celebration: Wrap up Bike to Work Week in style with a festive closing celebration at Sag Wagon. Celebrate your biking success and be encourages to keep biking to work! Prize giveaways as we celebrate another successful year of pedal-powered commuting.
